Kate Middleton Wedding Dress and Bridesmaids Dresses

Find satin gazar, Chantilly lace, and other materials used in the royal wedding

The Wedding Dress

The main fabric of Kate Middleton's dress is ivory and white silk satin Gazar (semi-sheer). The skirt has white satin gazar arches and pleats. The train measures two metres 70 centimetres.
Our main silk gazar is quality
4387.

The lace comprises of French Chantilly lace, English Cluny lace, and silk tulle.
We suggest:-
Chantilly style lace
3865/2, or the French Chantilly lace 4438, or perhaps the made-to-order French laces: 6009, 6015, or 6022.
Our recommended qualities of silk tulle for the dress are
4919 or 4397.

The underskirt is silk tulle trimmed with English lace.
Our stiffer silk tulle 4397 is suggested.

The veil is soft ivory tulle, and we recommend our quality
4396.

Philippa Middleton's Dress

This was made from a heavy silk crepe with lace trimmings similar to those of the wedding dress. We recommend our heavy, soft finish silk double crepe 4282, or the heavy satin-back silk crepe 4344.
For a lighter weight, and reduced cost, consider our standard weight silk double crepe
4281, or the lightweight satin-back crepe 4255.
Polyester alternatives would include
5522 heavy satin-back crepe, 9001 peachskin double crepe, 5409 standard weight satin-back crepe, or 5536 liquid satin.

The Bridesmaids

The ballerina-length, full, box pleated skirts use the same silk Satin Gazar fabric as the bride's dress (see above) with ivory layered over white, with four layers of net underskirt.
For the silk sashes and bows we suggest our silk dupions such as
4237/4238 or 4246.
